BUSHIRI INSPIRES KALAWE WITH K37 MILLION ROLEX
Leader of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG), South Africa based Prophet Bushiri has spoiled musician Kalawe with a K37 million Rolex watch as a gift with a message of valuing time as one of the best resources in business.
According to Kalawe, upon receiving the gift, Bushiri also known as Major 1 stressed the fact that the million Kwacha gift was not expensive but rather expensive time.
“Major 1 told me that I was missing the point thinking it was an expensive watch. He said I now have expensive time and once I mess with the watch then I am messing with valuable time and money,” said the excited Kalawe.
Quizzed on their relationship, Kalawe described Bushiri as his “spiritual father”.
He said: “Spiritual fatherhood entails submission on the part of the son and guidance on the part of the father on a journey to follow Christ. Fathers have higher authority and knowledge in the things of the spirit and instead of taking the trouble trying to know alone which may take time a father makes known to his sons all the mysteries.”
He added: “Major 1 has also taken special interest to assist me turn around my life in business and global impact. He is my life coach and my first call on many matters that affect my life.”
Kalawe then advised the youth begin to deciding the future of Malawi as a nation, saying one such way is to partner with our fellow youths like Major 1 who has special interest in the youth.
“Let us have a hub where we can put ideas together and get guidance from people who are ahead,” he said.
Kalawe is a well known musician who hit the spotlight with his hit single “Dzuka Malawi”.
Kalawe who is also proactive on social economic issues both in music and social media further appealed to youths to change the status quo.
“As a nation, we have broken status quos before. The notable ones being attaining independence and attaining multiparty. The recipe for change is people have to be fed up enough to demand the change at whatever cost because those who benefit from the status quo can not give it up easily. Then we must have change agents who are people who have to drive the change and these have to get the support of nation as a whole.
“On the same note but different angle, no nation has ever been developed by outsiders. We must be able as a nation to scout Malawians who have the capacity to drive development in the country. For example America depended on the likes of John D Rockfeller. Malawi has the likes of Prophet Bushiri who we fight with and SA is using him to turn around their tourism industry and he is employing thousands of people,” Kalawe noted.
